Enabling airwaves

This article introduces India's first radio programme for the disabled. The programme is broadcast by the All India Radio with software support from Ability Foundation, an NGO. The various sections of the programme not just discuss the issues that matter to the disabled, but provide awareness about their rights as well. The initiative could be seen as an important step in bringing disability focused activities in India from a charity mode to an empowerment mode.
