Open Source breaking barriers

The relationship between open source software and proprietary systems have often been a strained one. However, this situation is changing with the acknowledgment of the need for both types of systems to harmoniously co-exist. Greater collaboration between proprietary and open source systems, as exemplified by the interoperability between Windows and Suse Linux points to this growing synergy. The recent Open Source Week India event highlighted the benefits of open source to Indian businesses and also took a step forward in lowering the barriers against proprietary software.
