Government of Rajasthan : Online BPL census

The Rajasthan Government had launched a project to have a web based monitoring system for the Below Poverty Line family census in the state. The article profiles the challenges and achievements of the project through a series of questions and their coresponding answers. In a region with very low levels of ICT penetration, the initiative was able to successfully compile and dynamically update the list for considerable scale of data. As a result, for the first time in Rajasthan there is an accurate information database which is now extremely useful for citizens and agencies providing services to them.
