MSTC e-commerce initiative lauded

This is the report of proceedings from a conference organised by the Metal Scrap Trading Corporation(MSTC) which discussed the effects of e-commerce vis a vis physical trading. Over the past few years, MSTC has moved in a full-fledged way to online trading. The report says that the company uses its portal to provide services to producers of indigenous scrap, coal, manganese ore and iron ore. The company has also launched e-procurement services. The company hopes that e-trading will reduce the scale of hoarding and ensure regular supplies. The conference was hopeful that it would also bring down costs, thereby reducing prices and resulting in quicker transactions.
