Rural healthcare to get tech savvy in UP with digital assistants
July 14, 2008, Indian Express
Digitisation of medical records in rural Uttar Pradesh have proved to be challenging due to a variety of factors, primary amongst which is the poor quality of electricity supply. In order to overcome this problem, medical staff will be provided with a Personal Digital Assistant to collect such information. Though this project has had some teething problems, it is hoped that this initiative will significantly improve the quality and range of data collected at medical centres, and correspondingly improve the level of service being provided by the government to the rural poor in the state.
