IT & BPOs will see wage moderation: NASSCOM

Steep and unsustainable high wages have been often criticised as the bane of the Indian IT industry. These wages are attributed to the high costs of living in those cities whose economies run exclusively on IT, thereby making it almost impossible for people in non-IT sectors to afford a decent standard of living. In what is being seen as a course correction, wages are expected to stabilise and taper off. This wage moderation is expected because of the increased supply of manpower, allowing employers a choice from a larger talent pool. The National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) also reports that the demand supply situation of IT labour is currently well balanced.
